Happy Anniversary!

Today is not only Katlyn's birthday, it's also our anniversary! Since our money is a little tight right now, we are going to keep things pretty low-key...and that's just fine with me. In keeping with that theme, I would like to give The Huz something from-the-heart and it didn't cost me a cent.

50 Reasons Why I Love Nate...

1. He's tall. Much taller than I.

2. He can build and fix most anything. Seriously.

3. He has naturally curly hair. And a full head of it.

4. He's strong. In many ways, but I'm talking literally strong here. He can lift a lotta pounds. He even lifted me in and out of the shower when I had a broken ankle. He's also carried furniture meant for a small Elder's Quorum by himself and railroad ties over his shoulder. Truly impressive.

5. He can make hopeless things seem do-able.

6. Ask him about any current event. He can tell you all about it.

7. He's a great teacher to our son.

8. He is loyal.

9. He comes up with the most random things that make me laugh...even days later.

10. He'll eat anything I cook. And tell me how yummy it is.

11. He encourages me to be creative. He will even help me with a crafty project if need be.

12. He has the confidence and courage to figure something new out.

13. He loves all of God's creations.

14. He serves others.

15. He finds joy in the simple things like gardening.

16. He was an exemplary father when our baby boy was born. He went with very little sleep for many a night so his post-partum, anemic, neurotic, colliky wife could get some sleep.

17. His hugs will make you feel like you are in the safest place in the world.

18. He can pick out just the right shade of lipstick for me or the perfect color of paint for a room.

19. He took me to China.

20. He has manly hands.

21. In a world of metro sexuality, his masculinity is oh so refreshing. I love my manly man.

22. He smells like fresh-cut wood after he's been working in the wood shop.

23. He appreciates most any kind of music.

24. He doesn't make me mow the lawn.

25. He gets cravings for certain foods...thus is empathetic when I get them.

26. He respects chocolate.

27. He saves money.

28. He is patient.

29. He buys me cases of butter.

30. He doesn't complain when I steal the covers.

31. He plays with our son.

32. He honors his priesthood.

33. He drives me places in the snow.

34. He brings me flowers.

35. He doesn't lose his cool with A-holes in the customer service industry...

36. He will run the vacuum or washing machine...if need be.

37. He has beautiful lips.

38. He made sure I had a Kitchen Aid stand mixer from the get-go of our marriage.

39. He gives great birthday, Christmas, Mother's Day presents.

40. He loves my nieces and nephews.

41. He supports me with my neurotic projects (e.g. parents 50th Wedding Anniversary party, countless RS events, etc.)

42. He doesn't whine when he gets sick or injured.

43. He taught me how to shoot a gun, drive a 4-wheeler, drive a boat, play Hand & Foot.

44. He brought me home a lemon tree.

45. He makes a killer Whisky Maple Grilled Cedar-Planked Salmon. And I don't even care for Salmon.

46. He does our taxes. And gets us a return.

47. He grew ripe, succulent tomatoes and other required ingredients for salsa; made the salsa; canned the salsa...a lot of it. He also canned home-grown plump, juicy, sweet peaches, zesty dill pickles and beets (but I don't like them... I don't like anybody's beets).

48. He has broad shoulders.

49. He loves our son with all of his heart.

50. He loves me with all of his heart.

WOW I bet you had to really think about that list. I bet it took you 11 years to think of that. I cant even think of 10 things I like about me. Now I have to run outside before my head wont fit through the door. I love you too Nine ;).
