Long Arm of the Law

Congratulations Officer Long!! You did it! What a huge accomplishment. You worked your hiney off both physically and mentally. I've never seen you so focused and driven before. It was so neat for me to see and I am so grateful our son could watch you accomplish this goal. Jameson is aware of some of what you've been through. He would always ask when he got up in the morning how long his Dad had been gone (especially on those 5 AM physical training days in the freezing temps) and he watched you study, push it physically, practice take downs, weapon training and definitely noticed when you were not home by the time he was in bed at night. He and I have talked several times about the dangers you will be facing and he so looks up to you.

I can't tell you how relieved I am to have you done with the academy...I never imagined we would have some of the stresses you experienced during the past four months. I am thankful for your hard work and the support of our families and most importantly our Heavenly Father.

And here's a bonus picture. I didn't bring Carter to graduation because I wasn't sure how he'd do with 3 hours but it would have been fine because there were a million kids there that were way noisier than any sacrament meeting you've attended...
