A Post About Hair

That title could go in a lot of different ways, don't you think? And hair is something I spend a lot of time thinking about, cleaning up (mostly the dogs but my own post-partum locks are still shedding themselves), shopping for and styling. By the way, does anyone know of a great product for an 8-year old's fauxhawk? I know, I know, the magazines are saying that fauxhawks are out but you know what...boys at Oak Hills Elementary are still sporting them, so whatever. I need something with staying power and those gels that claim to possess "extreme hold" are just a marketing ploy. I'm thinking I'm going to have to move to pomades. I don't know if I'm ready for that...well at least for my son.

If you've seen me recently, I have long hair now. In fact, I blogged about it before (see, the thinking about time thing I mentioned?). I'm not sure if it was a conscious choice I made to grow it out but it really just seemed to grow fast and I kind of liked the change so I went with it. Besides my husband loves it long - what guy doesn't like long hair? (Okay I've met two in my life, seriously two.) Nate informed me the other day that my hair is now officially long enough. I don't have to keep growing it. [And no, he's not a dominating man who mandates my style. I just thought it would be nice for a change to give him what he wanted.] I was surprised, it was relatively easy. I mean growing hair should be, right? But I guess I'm thinking more the mental energy that it takes to grow hair...like "Argh, it's so the inbetween length" and "My hair looks like crap today so I'm in a crappy mood" kind of thing. Ladies, you know what I speak of. So I guess I'm done. I'll keep it long until I get a wild hair and chop it all off. Who knows?

But here's a funny for you if you've stuck with me through this post. The other day Jameson and I were shopping at the grocery store and a woman with extreme long hair passed us with her shopping cart. Jameson turned to me and said, "Now that's just ridiculous." Ah, my boy. We get each other.

Love the new picts you put up. Glad you included yourself this time and the huz. James and I went to Tangled last week. Great movie, but I'm with Jameson, if someones hair is too long it is ridiculous. Hope your holidays were good.

Congratulations on the long hair staying power! It does take tremendous will power and mental toughness to make it that far, hence I shall always be a "bob" girl. And you're so nice to give into your husband once in a while :)
