Chelsea and Derek got hitched! May 3rd brought lots of excitement, beautiful spring flowers, one gorgeous bride, lots of sweet treats, tired feet, a very helpful hubby, a social Carter, chilly wind at the temple grounds and a special ceremony. So honored I could be a part of it all.
Several months ago my niece Chelsea asked if I would make her wedding cake. I responded with, "I don't make wedding cakes." She said she knew that, blah, blah, blah but she just wanted something that tasted really delicious and knew I could deliver. She found a picture of a cake in a magazine she loved and showed me. I decided I could probably pull it off.
Bride-to-Be also requested a carrot cake. A story for another time... but I had a similar carrot cake/large scale disaster a few years ago. So for 3 weeks I tried various carrot cake recipes and finally found one that would work grand scale AND tasted yummy.
Here's the result:

Thanks Nate for your strong-cake-carrying-muscles and the rotating cake decorating stand. And Derek, welcome to the family!
