The Many Faces of My 18-Month Old

I can't believe this little guy is 18 months old. Bittersweet. He even had his first day in Nursery this past Sunday (and by day, I mean Mom hung out too). He looked so dapper in his new shirt and tie...I wished I would have known where my camera was to snap a picture of him.

So here are a few things about my little Carter Maximilian...

- Still loves his naps. Sometimes he even heads to his crib and pats it to let Mom know he's ready for a snoozer.

- Fruit remains his all-time favorite food. Well food in general really. Still not a fan of bread or bread-like substances (e.g. pizza, sugar cookies, pancakes, muffins, etc.). He's also not shy when it comes to asking you for a bite...including strangers.

- Is a big cuddlebug and very affectionate. If you are extra special, you'll even get one of his giant, wet kisses. Watch out!

-Looooves his big brother and their embraces are well, just plain heart-melting.

-Loves to get dressed and have his hair combed/styled in the mornings. He especially enjoys getting dressed up for church and if he isn't wearing a tie that week, he'll go get one from his closet for you to put on him.

-Does not want you to sing anymore. I've spent the past 17 months singing my heart out in the car and while doing housework and now it's over. Done. He does not want to hear me sing or anyone else for that matter.

-Has a velociraptor scream he can produce (seriously, it sounds just like one of those dino toys). This usually comes when his big brother is sipping kool-aid, I'm singing or he sees you eating ice cream.

-Has a thing for candles, especially those jar kind. He'll "ask" you all day long to light one just so he can blow it out. Or he'll just blow them out if he happens upon one. So no masking odors in your home with a Yankee candle.

-Has zero fear.

I couldn't believe it when I was putting his name on the nursery roll last week. Pretty soon Amelia will be in there practicing her scream with him.
