Cake Pops: Not Just for Breakfast Anymore

Does January ever make you feel stagnant? It does me. Yesterday's snowstorm was a welcome reprieve. I also needed a creative reprieve. I had some creative plans for December...crafty Christmas gifts. But then the windstorm of '11 came and that put a stop to all wood cutting, painting and modge-podging. Ah, maybe next year. I know, some people start now making their handmade gifts but that's not me. I'm more of an instant gratification kind of girl.

Enter cake pops! My boys gave me Bakerella's Cake Pops book for Christmas. Have you ever seen this? Fun! Carter is simply fascinated with it. In fact, he was seen licking the pages. And he's hefted the book off the counter or table several times to peruse its pages. Several times!

I've been wanting to master these cute and tasty treats for some time now. Last night was the night (but I'm far from a master). Shell, Amy and Alicia came over to help with Mr. Helpful a.k.a. Carter along with the baking, crumbling, rolling, dipping and general crises that arose.

Carter was beside himself to see them this morning when he woke up. He had 3 before 9 AM church.
