Valentine's or Bust!

Pretty much a bust this year.

I do love V-day...even when I was single.  Me mama always celebrated the holiday by showing those around her how much she loved them.  Roses from some dashing man not necessary (but still not going to complain when it happens).

However, this year did not go at all as planned.  Nate and I spent the morning in the oral surgeon's office.  His tooth broke in his gums (no, not from some cool story involving a criminal, instead merely playing with his little boy).  The appointment began the multiple month-long bone grafting and implant process (bye bye tax return).   So needless to say, wherever me and my crush were to end up that night, I would be driving because he was on painkillers and our romantic meal would consist of applesauce or other soft food.

Jameson was also sick and missed his class party.  Big deal for a 3rd grader.  I took his Valentines and homemade box to his school so he wouldn't miss out on this part at least.

I finally made it to work after the oral surgery appointment and found out that my department is undergoing some major restructuring.  This always makes a girl feel secure.

Rushed home to throw a red tablecloth on the table for Jameson and Carter to dine on a heart-shaped pizza.  Went to grab their little gifts out of the trunk of my car but couldn't find my keys...anywhere.

Picked up the boys from Grandma's house (thank you for watching them) and missed our pizza pick-up time.  But that was alright because Jameson wasn't hungry.

A few years ago, Nate had emergency appendectomy surgery on Valentine's day.  He said he was planning something really "special" for February 14, 2013.

A bust for sure but I do love Officer Long, Jameson, Carter and the rest of my family.  And really, that's what Valentine's Day is all about Charlie Brown.
