'Twas the night before Christmas

when all through the house, every being's intestines were stirring and their tummies shook like bowls full of jelly. Ok, so it doesn't rhyme but I think you get an idea of how our Christmas went down.  I think we're on the upswing now...hopefully.  Every body has unwrapped their own gift of it and by the looks of Instacare Sunday morning, so has pretty much the rest of town.

We were excited because Trooper Long didn't have to work on the big day and our original plans of having Christmas "morning" at 4 pm was gladly changed.  But when Jameson lay on the couch crying to return to his bed, well, a day with a belated Christmas morning seemed pretty benign.

So here's just a couple of facts I recently learned about the stomach flu...

1. The flu shot does not guard against the stomach flu.  There are around 7 strains of influenza and the flu shot helps with about 3 of these.
2. The "old" stomach flu would last about 24 hours.  The new super strain lasts around 4 days.  So in other words, this is not your Grandma's flu.
3. I don't remember body aches being that bad.  Seriously, am I just a wimp now?

Here's a few memorable pics...

P.S. Happy Birthday to my hubby, Trooper Long today!  Now he's only 2 years younger than me instead of 3! I love these next 7 months.
