Warning! Spoiler Alert!

We seem to only do the cinema thing once a quarter. Not really sure why. I like movies. I really like scary movies. I was excited to see M. Night Shyamalan's The Happening was being released October 8th on DVD. I know, I know, it didn't get the best reviews, but can you really rely on critics to tell you if you'll enjoy a film or not? Besides that, I don't think movies that fall into the scary movie genre can be compared to other movies...when was the last time a scary movie won Movie of the Year? Often they are predictable and sometimes even laughable. But a good suspenseful, plot twisting flick really gets me.

I have been loyal to M. Night. I've stuck with him through Signs and Lady in the Water. But here's my question...didn't anyone say, "Um, Night, this movie you're making really sucks." Doesn't he have a trusted loved one to give him honest feedback when he said, "Hey I wrote this story, please look over it and give me your honest opinion." Where was his Mom that told him yes, the vest he was wearing when he was 19 did make him look like a putz?

As I watched the movie, I kept thinking, it's all going to come together. It's going to be like a really great episode of Law & Order where there is some revelation in the judge's chambers. No! the stupid movie is about trees getting even with man. Is it Night's "creative" way to warn us to be more conscientious about our environment? Guess what M.? The idea has already been taken...Ents anyone?

Marky Mark couldn't even save the film. Have I missed something? Has he always been a pathetic actor? Was I mislead by his boyish good looks?

Hey Night, next time you decide to pull out one of your 3rd grade stories you entered into the PTA's Reflections Contest...make sure the plot isn't botany based...have your Mom give you her loving yet honest opinion...and watch an episode of Law & Order first.

I take personal offense when you talk about Marky like that.

Well apparently he dropped his acting talent like he dropped The Funky Bunch.

Or like he dropped his pants when he was a Calvin Klein underwear model?
