Happy Birthday from Bellatrix Lestrange

Yesterday Jameson turned 8. We had a little family Harry Potter night for him. Chocolate Oreo Cupcakes with magic sprinkles (okay, just blue sprinkles), a $2 magic wand and this cool Lego set featuring Weasley's Burrow...

We were gone all day today to my sweet Aunt Barbara's funeral. The best-neighbor-ever, Steph was kind enough to let Jameson hang out all day with her while we were busy with the funeral. When Jameson got home and saw me in my black dress and my hair down with curls, he said,

"Hey Mom, you look like Bellatrix Lestrange!"

This is Bellatrix if you just crawled out from under a rock and don't know who she is...

And this is Ms. Lestrange in Lego form...

Clearly, either one is a huge compliment.

And now, my dear 8-year old, here are 8 Reasons I Love You

1. You're funny. No, not just when you compare mom to a wildly insane, unkempt, evil murdering witch but you are truly witty.
2. I know Carter could not ask for a better big brother. Wow kid, you are amazing. You will make one incredible Dad and Husband someday.
3. You have a sensitivity that not everyone sees but you let Mom in on. Not just your compassion for people but for animals too. Such innocence and sincerity.
4. Your ability to create. I've never had to entertain you because you have such imagination.
5. You still cuddle with me.
6. The questions you ask about this life and the next. They keep me on my toes. You are my thinker.
7. That skinny, cute body of yours that appreciates quality chocolate and as of late, can never be filled. What is this, like the 47th growth spurt since August?
8. You like to hang out with me. How cool is that?

Love you J Boy. Happy Birthday from your Mom, Bellatrix.

I love the Bellatrix comments... I think the actress is incredibly beautiful so it is a compliment!

And how bad of a friend am I... I thought his birthday was after Christmas!!! How did I confuse that? He didn't say a word about it all day (my kids could have never done that)! I wish I had realized I don't have his birthday right and we could have done some celebrating here.

What day does he get baptized?
