Why am I the only person that didn't like this (aside from the other adults that saw it with me)? I believe I went in with realistic expectations - that is I know movies that are made from short children's books have issues...How The Grinch Stole Christmas anyone? So low expectations usually serve me well in movies. Go in low and be pleasantly surprised, right? Wrongo. Not here my friends. I think they went overboard on the melancholy theme (The Huz commented that he wanted to jump off a cliff when it ended) and James Gandolfini was perfect for the role of Carol - the same insecure bully that he played in Sopranos.
Jameson liked it...but he enjoys the fact that he's at the movie theatre (with cousins) and a tub of popcorn. It could have been Grapes of Wrath and he would have been content.
Bottom line: save your money and your dollar at red box. Read the book and recall your fond childhood memories there.

I've never been a fan of the book even though some people go wild for it. It's gotten some bad reviews, too, so thanks for some heads-up. And I love the Grinch! Jim Carrey had some major Oscar-worthy material there!
Wait, so you didnt like the grinch? What the hell is wrong with you?
yeah that was a horrible movie. I had forgotten about you post and spent 5$ on the probably most depressing moving ever.
