Back-to-School

I like summer...not the heat, no but the lack of rigid schedules and hanging out with my Jameson. Alas, it was time for this 2nd grader to go back to school...

Is he like 6'2" now or what? I couldn't believe how tall he looked next to all his classmates as their teacher led them to class. And thanks Yoda for reinforcing the reading thing (note his shirt)...Jameson values your wisdom.

Sunday night brought the Betenson Back-to-School Party complete with school lunch faves (homemade mac&cheese, chicken fingers with your choice of dipping sauces and school lunch peanut butter bars) all served on a lunch tray.

And of course the juice box

Who doesn't get excited for school with BACK TO SCHOOL BINGO? featuring school supplies as the prizes - wonder which one has the protractor and Nutri Grain Bars in it?

Jameson was preoccupied with Grandpa's vegetable garden and picking produce...he's a farmer at heart

Nobody told Carter his brother was going back to school...who will make him giggle between the hours of 8:45 AM and 3:25 PM?

And apparently Maddie didn't know school starts tomorrow 8:20 sharp!

Her sister Lacey remembered...she had an essay due the first day of school...huh??

I will miss my terrific niece tenders like Amy, so loved having them this summer

Hayley will be back to beauty school and isn't she a beauty herself?

Josh showing off his napkin folding skills (and his "Bieber do")

Chelsea enjoying some watermelon before taking off to Provo (boo!)

And of course Grandpa (my Dad). The cancer has kicked his butt but not his hair. I just keep telling him he needs to drop some LBS (ha! ha!)

Best of luck to my buddy J and to all my nieces and nephews this school year. Love, love, love you guys.

Will you just adopt me into your family? You have so much fun. And the food! Sometimes, I dream about those peanut-buttery school lunch bars. Speaking of adoption, we are adopting a little girl. She's due to be born December 10th. We've been hanging out with her birth mother since May. Crazy how, and when, these kids make it to earth. I love reading about your cute boys:)
